Need Social Media & Marketing Help? We Have a Suggestion. by Jessica Kain
We all should understand the impact that the Internet plays a huge part in our dealership's success. It is more important now than ever to reach out to our “Internet Customer” from all outlets. Whether that is from our websites or social media, we need to be prepared to find these customers and help them. With all the new social media outlets, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, FourSquare, and LinkedIn, this can be a difficult task to accomplish efficiently. Many of your customers are on these web interfaces and it is crucial that you make your presence known. The big question is: where do you find the time and help?
We are going to share a little secret. A couple months ago, we decided to attend a career fair at the local university in Lexington, Kentucky. We met many young, smart and talented young professionals interested in marketing and eventually invited two to join our team. These interns have changed the way we manage our social media and marketing. They have brought innovative, fresh ideas to our company webpages. Also, they have increased our followers and created a plan to better reach our clients by improving our website and better managing our social media outlets.
Two weeks ago, I went to visit one of our oldest clients. I complimented them on how great their Facebook looked. I noticed the quality and quantity of posts that were going out, as well as the added bonus of increased “likes”. They told me that the older brother of one of the kids that the General Manager had coached in basketball had approached them about what they were doing wrong with their social media. He told them that he wanted to come in and give them a presentation of how they could improve. A couple of weeks later, the nineteen year old boy came in with a PowerPoint presentation of how they could double their followers and increase their social footprint. They hired the young man on the spot. Today’s college students and so called "millennials" grew up on Facebook and Twitter. They have become experts by habit and they know how to reach your customer and increase your dealership's social presence.
